Institute Description
The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Hospital Clínic of Barcelona is a leading institute for clinical service and medical research in Spain. It has a dedicated tic and OCD specialty clinic that provides comprehensive evaluation and developmentally-appropriate treatment plan with evidence-based interventions, such as behavioral therapies and medication consultations. The tic and OCD unit participates in multiple international research projects that aim to improve the understanding of these conditions and develop innovative and effective treatments. This research activity is coordinated by the Fundació Clínic per la Recerca Biomèdica, a private non-profit foundation created in 1989 to provide administrative support to the researchers Hospital Clínic of Barcelona in the management, development and justification of its scientific activity.

Astrid Morer, MD has extensive clinical and research experience in pediatric tic disorders and OCD. She is the coordinator of tics and Tourette program at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is involved research projects on the genetic and autoimmunity/inflammation basis of these disorders.
Blanca Garcia Delgar, MD is Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist specialized in OCD and tic disorders. She has collaborated in international research studies to identify the genetic and enviornmental susceptibility factors of tic disorders. In 2016, she received a grant to conduct a one year fellowship at the Tics and Tourette Program at Mount Sinai (New York).
Ana Pérez-Vigil, MD, PhD is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist specialized in OCD and related disorders. She was a fellow for 3 years at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research Center, at the Karolisnka Institute in Stockholm (Sweden), where she collaborated in research projects related to the association between autoimmune diseases and OCD and tic disorders. She also studied the functional impairment in the academic and working life of patients with OCD and Tourette syndrome/chronic tic disorders.
